Human Resources Director

This is a generalist position, with an emphasis on payroll, benefits, and employee relations. Gates Hudson is a growing company with almost 700 employees in 4 states. The environment is fast paced and requires multi-tasking. We are looking for a hands on generalist with excellent communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the Payroll & Benefits Manager who supervises the Payroll Specialist, HR Admin, and HR Assistant
  • Is the main point of contact for employee relations
  • Serves as the administrator and fiduciary for the 401(k) plan. Sits on the Investment Committee which is made up of Senior Managers. Works directly with outside CPA firm on annual 401k audit and compliance testing
  • Spearheads the annual renewal process for benefits and Open Enrollment
  • Oversees Wellness Committee, Safety Committee and Health Fair. 
  • Significantly participates in annual corporate payroll budgeting process
  • Ability to collaborate with operations and accounting on policies and procedures

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 10 years progressive HR generalist experience with an emphasis on Payroll, Benefits, and Employee Relations
  • 3+ years supervising HR staff
  • Advanced knowledge of HR related federal, state, and local legislation
  • Top notch communication skills - both oral and written - with all levels of employee
  • Strong analyzation, decision making, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate with Senior Managers
